In recent years, the alpha from China A-Shares has been at least as important, if not more so, than the beta returns. After implementation, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index will include 253 large-cap and 168 mid-cap China A-shares, representing a weight of 3.3 percent in the pro-forma index.
